In an age of expansive suburban neighborhoods and corporate shopping centers conveniently placed to serve those expansive suburban neighborhoods, one can feel rather detached from the city, or town, that can give everyday living more meaning and joy.

We often avoid the downtown because of the homeless population, but the downtown and its immediate surroundings are full of history that has so often been forgotten, or just never learned.
